2019 National Assisted Living Week

National Assisted Living Week (NALW) is taking place from September 8-14, 2019! We are excited to recognize our partners in the assisted living community for their care and support of seniors and individuals with disabilities.

About NALW

National Assisted Living Week was established by the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) in 1995 and provides a unique opportunity for residents, their loved ones, staff, volunteers, and the surrounding communities to recognize and celebrate the role of assisted living facilities.

This annual observance encourages assisted living communities around the country to offer a variety of events and activities to celebrate the individuals they serve, as well as to help educate members of the public about this distinctive aspect of long term care.

2019 Theme and Inspiration

This year’s theme is “A Spark of Creativity” which hopes to inspire residents to tap into their creative side, whether through the arts or beyond.

Additionally, the theme aims to inspire assisted living staff to get creative in order to further person-centered care to residents. Staff at all levels are encouraged to offer ideas that could help improve each resident’s quality of life. Assisted living communities across the country should organize activities and events throughout NALW that relate to the theme.
